Nightmare is World Tier-3 difficulty in Diablo 4 (D4). In this guide, we’ll show you how to unlock Nightmare level in Diablo 4.
There are four difficulty levels (World Tiers) in Diablo 4 and the first two levels Adventurer and Veteran are available from the beginning of your adventure but for the next two difficulty levels, you will have to unlock them to be able to select them. Each one has its more or less important changes. As for the Nightmare difficulty, here are the changes made:
- Champion monsters can spawn with damage resistance auras.
- You’ll have a little possibility to get holy items and unique items.
- Access to Nightmare Dungeons can be unlocked with Nightmare Sigil.
- Monsters are even more difficult to deal with, ignoring 20% of the player's non-physical resistances but giving +100% XP and 15% more gold.
In order to unlock Nightmare difficulty, you will have to complete the game's campaign for the first time as well as the Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon located in Kyovashad on Veteran difficulty. Once done, you will have the option to unlock the game in this new difficulty.
