Diablo 4 Lucky Hit: how does it work?

In Diablo 4, Lucky Hit is a stat that causes special effects based on the player's equipment and skills.

Games in the Diablo series have long been renowned for their complex gaming mechanics and unusual character stats. Blizzard introduces a brand-new stat mechanism called Lucky Hit in Diablo 4.

You must understand this new stat and how it functions if you want to make the most of your character and your build. In this tutorial, we’ll explain you everything you need to know about Lucky Hit.

The Lucky Hit stat allows you to activate a special effect based on your current equipment or skills. For the Barbarian, for instance, this can include summoning Whirlwinds, or even executing wounded non-elite enemies. This stat can go up to a 2.5% chance to execute wounded non-elite enemies.

Lucky Hit is a stat that grants the ability to activate a unique effect based on your current gear or skills. For example, for the Barbarian, this could mean summoning Whirlwinds, or even executing wounded non-elite enemies. This stat can go up to a 2.5% chance to kill injured non-elite enemies.

It is important to mention that Chance Hit and Critical Hit Chance are two different stats. Lucky Hit is completely independent of these stats, whereas the latter represents a percentage of your attacks inflicting bonus damage (up to 200% plus your critical damage bonuses).

In addition to the Luck stat for your character, each skill has its own Luck%. If you intend to play around Lucky Hits, it is imperative to check the Lucky Hit % of your own skill before using items to center your build.

Diablo 4, Lucky Hit, How it Works

Take the Barbarian and Pressure Point as an example, which has the Lucky Hit: Your basic skills have a 10% maximum chance to make enemies vulnerable for 2 seconds. Therefore, you need to apply a basic skill in order to use this effect. Consider launching an Upheaval attack. This skill only has a 20% chance to hit with luck. If Upheaval had a 100% chance of success, each hit would give you a 10% chance of making enemies vulnerable, but since Upheaval only has a 20% chance of success, it's only 1/5 the effect of 10% chance of vulnerability. So using Upheaval (20% chance) will only give you a 2% chance to make enemies vulnerable on every hit instead of the 10% chance effect.

The Lucky Hit percentage is concealed by default. You must go to your game options and enable the "Advanced Tooltip" box to see it. Once finished, you will be able to go to your character's stats section to see your Lucky Hit chance as well as your skills to see their Lucky Hit chance.

How to see your Lucky Strike score? By default, the Lucky Hit percentage is hidden. To see it, you will need to go to your game settings and check the "Advanced Tooltip" box. Once done, you will be able to go to your character's stats section to see your Lucky Hit chance, as well as your skills to see their Lucky Hit chance.
