Rihanna’s Unapologetic songlist includes Diamonds, review

Rihanna revealed the initial details for her seventh studio album. Titled “Unapologetic“, the album will land on store shelves on November 19, 2012. The production of the new album is handled by Def Jam Recordings and SRP Records. Diamonds will serve as the lead single from the album.

Diamonds is a nicely done mid-tempo pop ballad that strips her down and gives her an opportunity to demonstrate her vocal strength without an over-produced musical arrangement. I'm always iffy about her ballads as her vocal style is more fitting to aggressive songs. When she slows things down she has a propensity to show her vocal weaknesses, but this number really exposes no weak spot. She sounds flawless here and she hits every note brilliantly. I feel she has taken her music to a new level and it really showcase in her new single.
