SWV’s fifth album I Missed Us review

Cheryl "Coko" Clemons, Tamara "Taj" Johnson-George and Leanne "Lelee" Lyons, best known for their stage name SWV are back after 15-year hiatus; the trio joined up in 2008 and hit the road for reunion tour over the next couple of years. In 2011 they appeared on the remix to Chris Brown's single "She Ain't You" plus sign with a new label Mass Appeal, and early this year they released their fifth album "I Missed Us". It is another hit album with R&B/Rap offering, featuring some of the contemporary hit rap artists such as A.X. and Brianna Perry.

Upon first listen, their newest offering is an instant classic. This time around they are full-blown and you can hear the mellowness that life lessons have taught them. The record is packed with full fledged performance, and loaded with remarkable tracks, like their chart topping number "Co-Sign", that will instantly remind you of their hit single "Right Here". Other great songs on this album include "Do Ya", "Love Unconditionally", "All About You", "Show Off" and the wonderful remake of Patti Labelle's hit song "If Only You Knew" Overall, “I Missed Us” is a welcomed return for the trio. While they do settle in to the time on few hits, underneath it all it's still the same group with voice.
