LoL Arena: how to play Ahri? Best build, Augments and Combo

League of Legends (LoL) has just got a new game mode, called Arena 2v2v2v2, for the first time in years.

Arena is a collection of 2v2 games that occur in rounds similar to TFT. In the first round, you receive 1000 gold to begin the game. In the second round, you can choose an Augment to use to upgrade your Champion. In the third round, you receive 1000 gold once more. Things start to get really interesting in the fourth round, you receive 3000 gold and can purchase your first core item. In the fifth round, you can choose another Augment. Riot has also brought back several old items, including Hextech and Gunblade.  In the sixth round, you receive 3000 gold once again and the cycle continues until a team loses enough rounds and the game is over.

Ahri is one of the champions and playable character that you’ll encounter during your progress through the League of Legends Arena 2v2v2v2 mode. In this guide, we’ll share some useful tips on how to play or build this character? Which Augments and items to choose or buy, and the best combo or duo composition that you can use with Ahri?

Ahri's best support Augments (the best Augments are the ones that give Ahri move speed and damage). We recommend prioritizing those focused on movement speed and spell-based damage.

Prismatic: (spell-based) Accelerated Sorcery, Eureka, Precious Gauntlet and Ultimate revolution. (Movement Speed) Blade Waltz and Tap Dancer.

Gold: (spell-based) Apex Inventor, From beginning to end, Summoning Expert, Recursion and Phenomenal evil. (Movement Speed) Vanish

Silver: (spell-based) Infernal soul, Vulnerability, Erosion, Executioner, Warmup Routine and Buff Buddies. (Movement Speed)  Cloud Soul, Shadow Runner, Now You See Me and Castle.

Ahri Starting Items in Arena

Guardian Angel: Hit points, mana, and power are all necessary for mages.

Mythic Items

Everfrost: The slowdown assist you hit your skillshots or to lock your opponents in your CC rotations and to play the clock.

Liandry's Anguish: This item is very strong if you can use the burn consistently, especially when used against Tanks. In Arena, everyone has a large number of life points.

Standard build: Everfrost, Horizon Focus and Rabadon's Deathcap

Horizon Focus increases burst, Most of your builds should also contain a Rabadon's Deathcap later in the game.

Other Endgame Options: Void Staff, Banshee's Veil, Zhonya's Hourglass and Morellonomicon.

Depending on the source of the opponent's damage, you can pick between Zhonya's Hourglass or Banshee's Veil as defensive item. The Void Staff is required against magic resistance. Especially, if you're playing against a self-healing opponent, the Morellonomicon is normally a good late-game item.

Choice of Boots

Sorcerer's Shoes: In the beginning and middle of the game, Magic Penetration is excellent for enhancing your damage.

Ionian Boots of Lucidity: These boots are perfect if your hero is in dire need of haste in the early stages of the game!

Best Ahri Combos / Duos in Arena

When it comes to the best Ahri duos or combos in Arena, you have two options: either go all-in with a champion that has the same identity as Ahri but deals a different kind of damage, or pair Ahri with a champion who approaches things differently, like a tank or support.

Here are some examples:

Zed, for One-Shot AP/AD (Attack Damage / Ability Power) combos

Taric, to complete and have a bit of everything

Kayn, already AD (Attack Damage) and is also very mobile

Alistar, help to set up and play the clock
