David Bowie, Daft Punk, Arctic Monkeys and Foals are the musicians with the most nominations for the Q Awards 2013. The award is one of the most prominent events in Britain and is awarded annually by a popular music magazine that gives its name to the event, and the winners are chosen by public vote.
Bowie has received six nominations in eight categories including the best album ("The Next Day"), Best Song ("Where Are We Now? "), Best Music Video ("The Stars (Are Out Tonight) "), Best Solo Artist and Best Artist in the world today.
Arctic Monkeys, Daft Punk and Foals received three nominations each. The band Alex Turner is nominated for best live act (" Do I Want to Know? ") and Best artist in the world today.
Robots French may take awards for best song and best music video - both for "Get Lucky (Feat. Pharrell Williams) " and best album "Random Access Memories".
The Foals try their luck in the categories, Album (" Holy Fire "), Best Live Act and Best Artist in the world.
Other artists such as Jake Bugg (Best solo artist and Best new act), Ellie Goulding (best solo artist and best song for "Burn") and Vampire Weekend (best artist in the world today and Best album for "Modern Vampires Of The City") are also competing.
Voting is now open and the awards ceremony is scheduled for October 21 in London.
